Climate, environment, and living things play an important role
in geology because they are related to each other. Looking typical
fossils, geologists know their originations as well as their environment.
With the tropical rainforest, the climate is very humid because
of all the rainfall. According to Michael research, “there
is about 250 cm of rainfall per year”. The rain forest has
a lot of rain because it is very hot and wet. This climate is
found near the equator because there is more direct sunlight than
anywhere else. The sun warms the land, sea, and water. The warm
water can evaporate into the air. The warm air can hold a lot
of water vapor. When the air rises and cools down, so it holds
less water vapor. When the warm air meets cold, condensation takes
place and the vapor forms droplets, and clouds form. The clouds
then produce rain. Michael reports that it rains more than ninety
days a year, and trees in this climate normally reach a height
of more than 164 feet. Because of good conditions, rainforest
areas provide a good shelter for thousands of living things.
